THE INNER FLU PANDEMIC STORY  2 May 2009 by Choy

 

A Influenza pandemic (from Greek pan all + demos people) is an Influenza epidemic of infectious disease that spreads through populations across a large region; for instance a continent, or even worldwide.

Recently, news all around the world focus people’s attention on the “external” Flu Pandemic Story. I want to highlight the inner story.  Every time we hear of a global event, for example, we heard of The Global Terrorism, The Global Economic Depression, there seems to be a clear connection with the fact that we are firstly a Whole Humanity, having a Whole Human Body! Fear, insecurity, anxiety, worry, pain affects us as a whole human “body”. Together if we are a human body, then, you can sense that this great human body have organs too right? The Taoists have for 8,000 years stated clearly that the Lungs connect to Sadness and this can lead to chi depletion which in turn open the immune system to attack of illnesses.

 

No wonder the global community body manifests all the symptoms of lung depletion in the Swine Flu.

Look at other periods of  Flu attacking, example in 1918, the Spanish Flu infected 40% of the world and killed more than 50 million people. That period was just after World War 1 where the anxieties, insecurities and fears built up around the period had to manifest in a global human body illness.

 

In the 1950s, Asian Flu killed 2 million people. And what did we see happening just before the 1950s began? World War II 1937-1945 had also build up the anxieties, insecurities and fears and this manifested in the Asian Flu, around this time too, there was a population explosion starting in Hong Kong as hundreds of thousands of refugees flooded the island from China.

 

The Lungs are not meant to be containers of negative emotion such as Global Economic Depression. My message to the Global Humanity Body’s lungs is, “You are carriers of stamina and vital force. You love breathing Prana or Revitalising Chi. Face your fears, your worries and your sadness with courage, respect and loving acceptance and you find fresh and new creative solutions.”  2009, as I have shared on the New Year 2009 day message at the beginning of this year in our New Year workshop,  can be a Global lesson learning of embracing the opposites (2009 = 2+0+0+9  = 11  =  1+1 = 2) with wisdom. There are no boundaries separating Global health, Global politics, Global economy, Global education, Global scientific community, Global respect for Mother Nature!! 

 

There is also a common saying, “Do not throw pearls of wisdom upon swine” as they will not appreciate the value of those pearls of wisdom.  Though the rapid response of the medical community to find solutions are to be commended,, they too are doing their best to learn the path of wisdom to find a synthesis in their search for a cure. The Law of Yin and Yang reigns supreme. Returning to mother nature’s wisdom is the solution. Herbal remedies have been always found for every illness upon this earth.
